In the past three years, volunteers with No More Deaths/No Mas Muertes interviewed almost 13,000 people who had been held in short-term Border Patrol custody and published their findings in a recent report entitled A Culture of Cruelty. Detainees reported more than 30,000 incidents of human rights violations by Border Patrol agents ranging from denial of water to separation of family members to deliberate torture.
